Dansu To Pantsu (DtP) was founded in 2011 from the desire to better unite the dance community that was forming in the convention and anime scene. Many people had learned the popular dances found in anime but lacked a space where they could share this love with people. Jpop and Kpop music and dancing was also becoming more common among “hallway dancing” at cons. It was then that Youtuber Dejavudea and Sophia had a crazy idea to form a dance group on YouTube and to reach out to the attendees of these conventions to get together for dance gatherings.

With nearly 3,000 subscribers on YouTube, no one had expected a fun hobby to turn into what it had become. In the past 3 years DtP has held widely publicized dance gatherings at conventions all over the east coast. In fact, more than we could keep track of. We also had the honor to hold a dance showcase at Otakon 2013. At this past Katsucon 2014, DtP was interviewed for a TV special about fans who give back. We’ve also appeared in many documentaries and cosplay music videos. With members who live all over the United States, and as far as Canada and even the UK there is no limit to the audience we are able to reach and dance with.

 

In September of 2014, the Dansu To Pantsu YouTube channel was taken down for copyright stirkes, as they often happen on YouTube and specifically dancers. Though most of DtP's videos had been lost, we did not give up. YouTube is no longer our main place to share our videos. They will be always here on our website, as well as posted throughout our social media listed below. We continue to have a YouTube channel, but full dance covers will not be uploaded there (but instead to tell you when new videos are on our site!) We fully appreciate every single person who encouraged us through this tough time. We'll never leave you!

At the conventions that DtP attends, we hold dance gatherings where ANYONE is welcome to come and dance with us! Even if you don’t know any dances, we love to meet new people and hang out and talk with you. We want to bring together lovers of dance from all over the world and share our hearts with them. We will always post and inform of any conventions our members will be at and where dance gatherings will be. Please come dance with us. We can’t wait to meet you! ♥
